Job Purpose
To prepare accurate cost estimations for self-climbing platform systems used in high-rise construction projects. The role involves analysing project requirements, material take-offs, labour costs, and vendor quotations to support competitive and profitable project bids.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for self-climbing platforms based on project drawings and specifications.
- Analyse labour, material, and equipment requirements and apply standard costing methods.
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to understand technical aspects of climbing platform systems.
- Monitor and update unit costs regularly based on market trends and historical project data.
- Assist in preparing costing breakdown and presentations for clients.
- Identify and highlight potential cost risks and value engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with procurement, design, and project execution teams to align cost estimates with actual implementation.
- Support post-project cost reconciliation and lessons learned exercises.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveyor or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in cost estimation or costing roles within construction/ formwork/ climbing platform industry.
- Knowledge of self-climbing platforms and their components is essential.
- Proficiency in reading drawings through AutoCAD, MS Excel etc.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
